I can't even write what I'm thinking...

I just read this at a rad-trad site: here
I can't even begin to write about how wrong they are. I think the review was written by someone who was both blind and deaf. Maybe they even had their hands chopped off, because otherwise they could have read a braille version of the scripts. Soon (hopefully) I will write a full article on why they are completely off base, but I just can't tonight.
Oh, read the rest of the site too. These people aren't SSPX, but they are pretty close. Here's one spot that really irks me:

"The official motto of the event is “We have come to worship Him.” But it is clear from the WYD website and literature that all - from any religion, or even no religion at all – are all invited to worship “Him” anyway that they so choose. “He” can be the false god of Judaism or Islam, the devil spirits of the shamans and native Americans, the multi-deities of the Hindus and Buddhists."

Did you catch that? They called the God of Judaism a false god! That puts them firmly in the camp of Heretics. Jesus was an observant Jew, according to these people, He worshiped a false god. God would not worship a false god, so Christ must not be God according to these Heretics.
That's all for now. Man, they got my blood boiling!

Planned Parenthood Video

This was on the American Life League's website:

"Planned Parenthood silent on violent video;
does organization agree with its message?

"Why has Planned Parenthood Federation of America not condemned a Planned Parenthood affiliate's violent animated short?" asked Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League's STOPP International. "Despite widespread revulsion over the online video, the organization is ignoring the controversy swirling around this dangerous piece of propaganda."
Planned Parenthood Golden Gate recently put an animated short on its web site that condones and promotes violence against pro-lifers. "A Superhero for Choice" portrays "Dianysis," a character apparently based on Planned Parenthood Golden Gate CEO Dian Harrison, who drowns an abstinence educator in a garbage can full of liquid, then vaporizes zombie-like pro-life demonstrators with exploding condoms. Since STOPP issued its first release on this situation on August 8, several news agencies have asked Planned Parenthood Federation of America to comment on the piece. To date, PPFA has refused to respond.
"Surely PPFA is aware of the video," said Sedlak. "The only logical conclusion from Planned Parenthood's silence is that the national office sees nothing wrong with having its affiliates advocate killing abstinence educators and peaceful pro-life demonstrators, and assaulting elected officials who disagree with the Planned Parenthood agenda.
"STOPP calls on Karen Pearl, interim president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, to immediately condemn this animated short," said Sedlak."

I'm not surprised that PP does not even acknowledge that the video exists. Remember, if you close your eyes, no one can see you!

UPDATE:
I just viewed the video, ALL is right. Also, you can no longer download it from PP Golden Gate's website, the link does not work any longer. There is no mention of why the link is broken though.
In the video, the "Super-hero for Choice" say that PP must being doing something right, because they have been around for 89 years. Well then, the Church has been around for 2,000 years, so by that logic, we really doing something right. The video also says that it hopes you learned that PP accepts all people, regardless of ethnicity, creed, ect. This is right after they drown an abstinence teacher, blow up Pro-Life demonstrators, and boil a U.S. Senator alive. I guess they meant that PP accepts all people who believe the way they do.

Who should run in 08'?

This is the man I think has the best chance at winning the 08' Republican ticket, and the White-house. His name is Michael Steele, and he is the Lt. Gov. of Maryland. The reason I believe that he is destined for greatness is the speech he gave at the last Republican Nation Convention. Here is the transcript of that speech. Right now, insiders believe he is going to run for the Senate, but I think he is the best bet to beat Clinton when she runs. If they ran against each-other, either outcome would be historical; the first black President, or the first woman President. I think given his upbringing, Steele has the better chance. Read his biography here.

Seven Sorrows

Back in late February, I read a National Catholic Register article on a Catholic hard-rock band in California called Seven Sorrows. It said that they send out CDs for free, so I thought I would give them a try. Their Music is incredible. I would encourage everyone who reads this to check out their website (in the sidebar). If you don't like a hard-rock sound, they also have acoustic versions of some of their songs. While your at their site, check out the forums, they are full of young Catholics who love the Church.

Firefly

I'm sure that some of you who are visiting are wondering what Firefly is. Here is a brief part of the Wikipedia article on Firefly:

"The show is set in the year 2517, following the depletion of Earth's resources and an expansion of the human race into the frontier of outer space. The show takes its name from the Firefly-class spaceship Serenity that the central characters call home; the ship's tail section lights up during acceleration, causing it to resemble a firefly. Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds is a veteran of the Unification War: a war of resistance against the Alliance, an organization that attempted to achieve the unification of all of the colonized planets under a single government. A central core of planets is under Alliance control; settlers and refugees in the farther reaches enjoy relative freedom from the long arm of the government, while lacking many of the amenities of a high-tech civilization. Mal now owns Serenity, making cargo runs and performing various other tasks — legal or otherwise — to scrape together a way of life for himself and his crew."

Now how can you go wrong with a setting like that? Check out fireflyfans.net on the sidebar if this has peaked your interest.

iBook Stampede

Wow, when people find they can buy a four year old iBook for $50.00, they leave decency at the gate. I love my iBook, in fact, I am writing this entry on my iBook; however, I don't think I would want to buy one that had been abused by a high-school student for four years. I guess I'm in the minority though, as 12,000 people (unofficial count) showed up to buy 1,000 iBooks. You don't have to be a mathematician (which I am), to figure out that 12,000 people all wanting one of the only 1,000 iBooks is a bad situation waiting to happen. People are basically good, right? You only need seven police officers to handle that type of crowd, right? I guess not. When the stampede happened, seventeen people were injured. One man even tried to drive his car through the crowd. All this for iBooks that are probably not in the best of condition.
I just don't get it.

Vocations Poster

I came across this awhile back, and I am going to post it now. This poster was designed by a Priest (the one in the poster) in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. I ordered one today, and found out that they are free! Don't try to contact the Archdiocese, it is not an official poster. You have to call Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish at (317)-888-2861. I loved the Matrix, and now I have an awesome poster that will go right up onto the dorm room wall.

The Dake Study Bible.

I just found out about this bible a few days ago, and I have to say, what I found out was pretty scary. The translation is just the King James Version, but it is annotated by the Rev. Finis Jennings Dake (1902-1987). The people who use this bible still claim to be Christian, but they have some beliefs that exclude them from that group. Most seem to take the notes as well as the actual scripture as being divinely inspired and without error. This then leads them to accept all of Dake's teachings as truth, even the ones that exclude them from the Christian fold. For example, Dake teaches that the Trinity is made up of three separate "gods," who are only one in unity of purpose. He teaches that each of these three persons has an actual body, and that they live on a physical planet called heaven. He also maintains that Jesus emptied Himself of all his authority at the incarnation, only receiving it back after the Resurrection. So, pretty much Dake denies the Divinity of Christ, but still claims to be Christian. He accuses others of trying to make God to complicated to understand, and doing so makes God merely a man. This bible is not a Christian text. A cult has formed around it, that pretends to be Christian, but is truly not. I hope this helps anyone who has ever used the Dake Bible, and I hope that everyone who reads this does some more in-depth research into why the Dake Bible is not to be trusted.

Donkeys!

Now, I think donkey's are really cool animals, so when I found this story on the BBC, I just had to post it. It is about a new clinic that opened in Ethiopia just for donkeys. It says that they use bible passages to convince the farmers to treat their donkeys better. In honor of this story, I will also post my favorite poem:

The Donkey

When fishes flew and forests walked
And figs grew upon thorn
Some moment when the moon was blood
Then surely I was born.

With monstrous head and sickening cry
And ears like errant wings
The devil's walking parody
On all four-footed things.

The tattered outlaw of the earth,
Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.

Fools! For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.

The Very First Post!

Well, this is the very first post in this new blog. Here is a little background info about me.
I am a 19 year old male University Student, studying Physics and Math. I am completely and utterly in love with the Catholic Church. I am a "Macaddict," though I do use windows for some work. One of my greatest heros is G.K. Chesterton, who gave me the inspiration for this blog. Something else you will see me write about a good deal is Firefly/Serenity. Firefly was a short lived T.V. show on Fox. Serenity is the film version which opens 9.30.05.

This Blog will have some on Chesterton, some on Firefly/Serenity, some on music that I like, and some on news stories that I would like to comment on. I might also post some pictures every now and then to break up the pattern; and who knows, maybe even a podcast or two.

That's all for right now.

Yours in Christ,

Thursday
