She said "Yes!"

After the Easter Vigil, I asked Katie to marry me, and she said yes!

Here's the ring!

It's been awhile, and I'm back. I just got my new digital camera (Pentax K100d), and am just itching to post some shots.

Photo of the Day 19

Sorry about my long absence, and thank you ghostwriter for a nerd game post.

Here is one I just took a week ago:

Pentax SMC-M 100mm f/4 Macro

I liked the color that I got with these leaves, even in the dead of winter.

So anyways, I've been a bit busy with work and school to post much, in fact I was a bit busy to shoot until last week. I know I said I was going to post more, but it just got away from me.
I really like shooting film, but unfortunately, I just can't afford to continue to shoot film now. Besides film cost and processing costs, I really would need to get a film scanner, and the one I want runs in the mid $400s. That is not the real issue though. Nikon seems to be quietly discontinuing the model, as it is only available every 5 months or so. That would only leave the $900 model, which is out of my budget. The answer to all of this is to get a Pentax dSLR. It seems the perfect time to buy one as Pentax is giving some rather major updates right now.
I'll post more (hopefully) from now on. And expect lots of photos, and a possible domain change when I get my dSLR.

Thursday

That's right, it's back!

(I couldn't resist, it's not like Thursday's been posting anything anyways. ~Ghostwriter)

Some changes in store. . .

Hi all. Here is my post explaining my absence. As you know from most of the posts, I have developed a love of photography (NPI). In fact, I love it so much, that I have decided to study it. I am changing schools for the fall semester (most likely to UMass Amherst), and am going to try and study Photography and graphic arts technology. As some of you know I have been working in Digital Printing/ Preress for close to five years now, so this isn't a terribly huge jump. I will try and keep you all updated on what is going on, and how my photography is going. Stay tuned this week for why I am shooting more film than digital photos.

Photo of the Day 17

Hello,
What a week this has been. Classes ended, finals started, I have two papers due by this Friday. . . I had a final exam yesterday, Intro to the Hebrew Bible. . . on a Saturday. . . I chuckled when I saw that on the schedule.
So, getting to the title of this post. . .
I'm posting another photo from my sepia series. I really like sepia photos, it emphasizes the contrast, without being as harsh as Black and White.

I took this with my Pentax MX and 80~200mm zoom lens. The tree was halfway down a hill, I climbed the hill, and zoomed most of the way in to crop out the other trees around it. I wanted just this tree against the sky.

Time for another thrilling installment of "Photo of the Day!" As you remember from last time, our heros had just managed to escape the evil red fog. . . Okay, so maybe not. . .

Here is today's photo of the day, I hope you like it.

Hey all,
Here is another photo that I took awhile ago, but just got developed. It is a bit more artistic than my usual photos. This is my first experiment with multiple exposures, and I think it came out quite nicely. Please leave feedback on this one!

Well, I have been negligent in my blogging these past few weeks. I would like to thank my ghost writer for updating some while I was sick.
I just got several rolls of film developed and scanned, so I have lots of photos to post.

Okay, here's another photo up for Thursday. He is feeling better now and is just continuing to slack off, so I decided to put another picture up for him.

Yours in Christ,
Thursday(and his ghostwriter)

(Yes Thursday, I know that it's smaller than you'd like but I couldn't get it to look good any other way that wasn't too big for your template.)

EDIT: Thank you for posting ghostwriter, I fixed the layout.

Photo of the Day 12

Thursday has been sick lately. So I, his illustrious ghost writer, have decided to attempt to keep him from getting too far behind with the Photo of the Day. He'll just have to tell y'all what this is later.
