These are just the trifles that are my likes, dislikes, ideas, and opinions. Who am I? Why I am the man who was Thursday.

eehhhh I know this painting. It's Flemish - I believe it's a Van Eyck. *sigh*
The virgin martyr in red I don't know.
Since there aren't that many queen saints, I'll guess the one with the crown is one of my patrons, St. Elizabeth of Hungary
And if I remember my art history correctly, I'm pretty sure the guy kneeling is the patron and not a saint.
:-/
I'll give 2 for 3. The nun is Elizabeth of Hungary, and while the kneeling monk is not the patron, you are right that he isn't a saint. He is Jan Vos, well loved man, who died right before the work was painted. There is a clue about the virgin martyr in the painting. Look carefully.
Yours in Christ,
Thursday
St. Barbara, St. Eliz. of Hungary and the donor.
Wow, we must have been writing at the same moment. Yes, it is St. Barbara, the tower is her symbol.
Yours in Christ,
Thursday
ahhhh now I see the tower! LOL if only I had realized it wasn't just the scenery out the window...
It even has three arches to the window since the story goes she wanted three windows in the tower to remind her of the Trinity (or something to the effect)
